Keppel Islands
One of our exciting adventures is Sea Kayaking in the Keppel Bay of Islands National Park. This area includes 15 islands surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and is the traditional home of the Ganomi-Woppaburra Aboriginal people. We paddle, walk and camp close to secluded beaches, plunging cliffs and diverse plant communities to mention a few. Sea turtles breed and feed around the islands. North Keppel Island offers opportunities to discover wildlife and enjoy the views on some of the walks. Humpy Island is pristine and offers fantastic snorkelling from the beach. |

Example Itinerary Day 1 Meet at Emu Park Caravan Park late afternoon for briefing, trip preparation and group dinner. Day 2 After a hearty breakfast we pack our sea kayaks and paddle across to Pelican Island where we enjoy a swim, morning tea and some island exploration. Paddle to the stunning Humpy Island where we camp for two nights. At Humpy Island you will enjoy snorkelling off the beach in crystal clear water, walking on the Island and getting to know the local curlews. Here we will do two days of adventure exploring the island and snorkelling. Day 3 Today we plan to paddle to North Keppel Island via Middle Island and Pumpkin Island. Once we arrive at North Keppel Island we explore the Island and paddle to Conical Island for a peek. Day 4 After breakfast we will paddle across from North Keppel Island to Yeppoon where we finish our sea kayaking adventure. |
