Frequently asked questions about our tours

What do I need to bring?

For a self guided trip you will need to bring the following :

  • Food for duration of tour 
  • 2 litres of water per person per day (water bladders available from supermarkets are most suitable)
  • Sun hat 
  • Rash vest/T-Shirt
  • Board shorts/swimmers
  • Towel
  • Shoes that can get wet 
  • Rain Jacket
  • Change of clothes
  • Insect repellent
  • 50+ sunscreen
  • Camera (and plastic zip lock bag)
Is the price per kayak or per person?

The price is per person.  If you are travelling alone we will pair you up with another single traveller so you have a buddy for the day.

Do I need to pre book your trip?

It is advisable to pre-book your tour.  We often book out so to avoid disappointment and missing out we advise booking in advance.  However we will do everything to accommodate your booking if you make a last minute decision to participate on our tour.  

Can I paddle in a single kayak?

We do have a small number of single kayaks available.  If you would like to request a single kayak please notify us as early as possible so we can accommodate your request.

How long is the day?

The tour starts at 830am and finishes no later then 3pm.  Our self guided tours include a detailed map briefing and landmark orientation, an introduction / orientation to our expedition sea kayaks and a kayaking lesson.

Can I start / finish earlier?

Both our self guided and guided tours are structured, therefore if you are wanting to start or finish the tour earlier please contact us to discuss.

Can I start/finish later?

Our tours officially end no later then 3pm.  If you are on a self guided tour and return after this times fee’s apply. 

Does the Noosa Everglades kayak Tour still operate in the rain?

Our tours operate in all weather conditions that are deemed safe.  We do not operate in unsafe conditions however we do operate in all weather.  So if rain is forecast come prepared with a waterproof jacket and a change of dry clothes for the end of the tour.

Are there any crocodiles in the everglades?

No.  It is too far south for crocodiles to inhabit the Noosa everglades.

Should I bring a waterproof case for my phone?

Yes.  We provide waterproof bags however we also suggest that you bring a waterproof case or zip lock bag to protect your electrical equipment.

What is the difference between a guided and self guided tour?

Our self guided tours allow you to experience the Noosa everglades independently, you are given a detailed landmark and map briefing, a kayaking lesson and top of the line equipment to have a unique adventure where you are able to navigate the branching waterways of the Noosa everglades independently.

Our guided tours offer you the chance to experience the Noosa Everglades with one of our passionate and knowledgeable guides.   Our guided tours are fully catered and we can accommodate all dietary requirements.  We provide a delicious and healthy morning tea and a gourmet lunch spread using locally sourced ingredients.  Our guided tours are a perfect way to learn about the ecology and history of the everglades.  All of our Guides are qualified, highly skilled and have been trained by Vivienne Golding, World champion kayaker and owner of Kanu Kapers Australia.

Can I get a refund if I don't go/can't go?

In accordance with our terms and conditions, refunds are not offered, however a full credit is offered if for a range of reasons you cancel or your Noosa Everglades Kayak tour is rescheduled by Kanu Kapers Australia.
